Strategic Partnerships

Helping Environmental and Wildlife Conservation Organizations throughout the world to raise the much needed funds to continue their important efforts:

Two key goals:

  • Saving Endangered Species
  • Saving Endangered Habitats

Principle:
A professional artist typically relies upon Art Galleries to represent their artistic talents to the world. For this ability, the Art Gallery charges the artist a commission fee. This fee is usually 40 % of the selling price. With this commission rate in mind, I decided that a well established organization could benefit from this same commission rate if they were to offer my artistic talents for sale, to their membership, through fund-raising events and the general public while raising awareness about their particular conservation focus.

Artwork:
Artwork is rendered to match the specific species and/or habitat that the organization is based upon. Original graphite drawings are completed and limited edition Giclée prints are created through a professional scanning technique. Limited edition prints are created in a numbered series of 325 with an additional 10 artist’s proofs. As the partnership grows, additional artwork is created to increase the selection of pieces that can be provided to the membership to ensure that fund raising continues.

  1. Any non-gallery sales of Strategic Partner oriented art that the Artist procures through his marketing; the applicable share percentage will be forwarded to the Partner.
  2. Any non-partner oriented art sales that the Strategic Partner is affiliated with; the applicable share percentage will be forwarded to the Partner.

Costs:
All costs associated with the creation of the original pieces of art, the creation of the Giclée prints, framing if desired and shipping are covered through the artist’s 60 % share of the selling price.

The only costs that are incurred by the Strategic Partner is the cost of marketing ( see Strategic Partner’s Obligations ), the cost of collection and remittance of the artist’s share of revenue and any applicable taxes that may be administered by the organizations host country.

Strategic Partner’s Obligations and Requirements:
There are a few basic requirements to fulfil the mandate of being a “Strategic Partner”, which are designed to ensure maximum fund raising potential.

  1. The organization must try and actively market the artwork through membership newsletters, association meetings and conferences, charity events and auctions, public awareness and educational sessions, active solicitation of key stake holders, etc.  The more active and successful that this marketing becomes, the more funds will be raised for the Strategic Partner.

  2. The organization is required to collect and submit to the artist on a monthly basis the volume of sales and to remit to the artist the applicable share percentage within 30 days of the end of each month.

  3. The organization is required to remit all applicable taxes to the appropriate authorities of their host country.

There are additional requirements that are organization specific and are negotiated at the time of the Partnership creation. Examples may include provision of photographic reference material, permission to bestow art gifts upon key donors and dignitaries, copyrights and contact information.

Goals:
The overall goal of forming a Strategic partnership is to ensure the continued conservation and protection of our endangered species and habitats. To do this, there must be a mutual understanding, sentiment and collaboration and that both the organization and the Artist work together in a relationship that is beneficial and rewarding to all involved.

Current Strategic Partnerships:
Below are brief synopses of the current partnerships in place. Click on the appropriate link to discover the conservation work of the Partner, the artwork that is being sold to raise funds and awareness and how you can help. If you are a member of either an environmental, conservation or wildlife group that would like to explore the possibilities of what a Strategic Partnership might bring to your organization, please do not hesitate to contact me and we can discuss the benefits.

Oceana is perhaps the largest single environmental organization in the world that is wholly focused on the World's oceans and their inhabitants. Oceans cover 71 percent of the globe, and they are as important to us as they are vast. Not only do they control our climate; they are the primary source of protein for 1 billion people around the world. Read more about Oceana and their work by clicking here.
