"Patiently Waiting"

"Patiently Waiting" is a new Artistic Cartography piece that took considerably more time than originally anticipated. This is a true mixed medium piece combining graphite, coloured pencil, watercolour and acrylic paints on a nautical chart of the 1000 Islands.

The scene is an annual one that can be observed in the small town of Clayton in Up-state New York on the edge of the St. Lawrence River. Every year the Coast Guard remove their navigation buoys and place them on shore for the winter. The town of Clayton has added its own colourful aspect to this scene by adding multi-coloured Adirondack Chairs.
