This is where you can commission me to complete an illustration or painting
specifically for you. I've done numerous homes, boats, pets and scenes for people that wish to give a unique and special gift to someone close or for their businesses. They make great wedding and graduation gifts. Below are some that I have done.

Regular commissioned pieces usually start at $ 500.00 Cdn with 50 % deposit prior to starting the piece and the remainder at the end of the project.
Price may vary depending upon the final image size, detail, difficulty of work, etc.

Artistic Cartography commissions start at $ 800.00 with 50% deposit prior to starting the piece. This higher price reflects the added difficulty with the medium of the map and the additional detail work that usually involves Staedtler markers and watercolour.

"Artistic Cartography"

    "Artistic Cartography"
is a relatively new idea that I am pursuing. Basically, I use the map as my canvas or more accurately my paper. This could be a nautical chart as shown on the right or a topographical map. I've used maps issued by the National Geographic Society as can been seen in my Sir Ernest Shackleton series.

We have access to a phenomenal array of maps which gives this concept endless possibilities.

If you have a favourite summer retreat, cottage, canoe or boating  trip, just about anything can be incorporated into a beautiful truly original piece of art.

Please take a look at my Map section to help you with some ideas.

Nature Conservation Groups

If you belong to a nature conservation group, this type of artwork would be ideal to demonstrate the importance of your work. Artistic Cartography has a unique way of bringing the subject matter, albeit an endangered species or a threatened habitat home to it's natural location on earth.

An example of this would be my piece titled "Hawai'i" which depicts a mother Humpback and her calf in their native calving grounds of the Hawaiian islands.

Another may be the "Ghost Bear" on the west coast of British Columbia on Princess Royal Island. This piece is yet to be done.

Please email for information concerning special prices and donation information.

My latest commission piece is one that incorporates a nautical chart of the Ottawa River - in particular the Britannia Bay and Yacht Harbour.

This piece was commissioned as a retirement gift for a gentleman that has had a career quite entwined with Canada Lands and now enjoys the challenge of racing sailboats. The image depicts a racing scene as the boats with full spinnakers approach the leeward marker for their final leg back upwind to the finish line.

This is what the chart looked like before the graphite, Staedtler Marker and watercolour was added to create the finished piece.

Below is the final image - the chart colour is different due to the difference in scans and printing.

I have had several requests to do commissions of family pets - one is shown below of some very small Bouvier puppies.

"Bouvier Puppies"

         Image Size: 9"H X 11"W

This was commissioned as a retirement gift to a gentleman who use to raise Bouviers.

A recent map in line with the Artistic Cartography theme.

This was private commission for a Christmas Gift for an enthusiastic Shackleton fan. This commission was unframed and cost $ 500.00 Cdn.

For those of you who are fans of Sir Ernest Shackleton, this image portrays the Endurance under sail and with full steam in an attempt to reach some open water which was to no avail.

January 24, 1915 Antarctica.

"Magic of a Wish"

The "Magic of a Wish" is a piece that I am very happy to be involved with. This piece is for the Children's Wish Foundation. Lynn Noel of the National Capital Region Chapter asked me to produce a piece of art that reflected my views of the "Magic of a Wish". The final piece is shown below. A set of 350 limited edition prints will be produced along with ten artist's proofs which will receive remarques.

The final image is approximately 19.5" X 24" unframed. All proceeds - 100 % will go to the Foundation.

The Children's Wish Foundation is a fantastic cause and if there are any inquires about the piece please do not hesitate to ask. It depicts a young girl walking hand in hand with Roary the Lion towards various wishes that have either been granted to children or perhaps will be in the future.

Printing by Tri-Graphic Printing is scheduled to take place the week of June 20, 2005.

Cost per print is $ 350.00 + applicable taxes

Original and Artist's proofs will be auctioned at events throughout the coming year.

Remember  100 % of all proceeds go to the Children's Wish Foundation!!
