Jitterbugging the Rideau
"Jitterbugging the Rideau" is one of my most popular Artistic Cartography pieces to date. It depicts a Large Mouth Bass surging up through the lily pads to strike a jitterbug. It is completed in graphite, Staedtler Marker and watercolour paint on top of a topographical map of the Rideau Lakes System.
It took over a year to complete this piece as the composition and balance of the overall piece was a bit challenging. Once the lily pads and flowers were added in the top left, it all seemed to come together.
The original is sold and hangs in Ottawa.
